What Could You REALLY Achieve If You Ignored Traditional Fat-Loss Advice And Did Something Different For Just 30 Days?


That's the question I often put to all of my new 1:1 personal training clients who tell me how frustrated they are with how much work they have to put into their training and how restrictive they have to make their diets in order to get the meagre results they've been getting and (worse still!) how fast they seem to LOSE their results as soon as they deviate from their plan even slightly.

If it does, you're definitely not alone.

In fact, spending tons of time, effort, energy and (of course) money on trying to get our bodies to look, feel and perform at their best while getting little or no results has now become so commonplace, so expected, so... normal... that most people have come to believe that physical transformation is either really hard, takes a lot of time or requires gruelling, painful and extreme physical effort to accomplish and that only a small minority of people are gifted with the genetics to achieve, let alone maintain decent results.

To make matters worse, many personal trainers, fitness experts and nutritionists seem to believe the same things which is why they often tell their clients that losing more than 1-2kg a month is 'unrealistic', 'unsustainable' or (shock, horror!) UNSAFE.

A PERFECT example of how low expectations have become can been seen in the picture below of a rejection of one of my posts as an ad on a well known social media platform because it makes 'false, misleading, or deceptive claims' even though the images are 100% real and the results were documented in Mens Health magazine and verified by their editor.


The Dirty Little Secret

Of Personal Training


As a personal trainer I'm probably not supposed to say this as it's probably violating some sacred oath in some secret society of personal trainers but as I'm more interested in the results my clients get and keep rather than the good opinions of other trainers I'll say it anyway; most personal training doesn't work.

That's not to say that anyone is out there trying to rip off their clients, that trainers aren't knowledgeable and skilful or that they aren't doing the very best they can to help their clients to transform, but rather, I'm stating a fact that few trainers (even those that post the most impressive before and after pictures) can deny; most clients either drop out of their programs BEFORE they get any appreciable results OR they get fantastic results... and then end up losing them!

Shocking I know, but true nonetheless.

Most people who start a new exercise and diet plan will either quit it altogether (or change it so much as to make it completely ineffective) within the first 2 weeks of starting it due to it either being so hard, harsh or restrictive that it negatively effects the rest of their life or they'll be working the 'sensible' and 'realistic' plan of 1-2lbs a week and end up so bored and uninspired at the slow results that they stop making effort and give up altogether.

And even those people who DO put in the time, effort, energy and cash to create their transformation will usually only look and feel great for about a week or two after their program ends and then slowly (and sometimes NOT so slowly!) see the pounds pile back on, taking them all the way back to where they started and often, piling on a few extra pounds as interest!

Not a great advertisement for the power and impact of personal training, is it?
